1. Who we are
Urban Fashionz ("we", "us") is an online store based in Lira, Uganda, trading as The Fashion Trenders. You can reach us at hello@urbanfashionz.com or on WhatsApp at 0770 312500 or 0771 280631.
2. What data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, phone number and a hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text.
- Order data: delivery address, items ordered, payment method, order status and transaction references.
- Payment data: we do not store card numbers. Payments are processed by MTN, Airtel, PesaPal or PayPal; we keep only a transaction reference.
- Usage data: pages visited, searches, products viewed and cart activity, used to improve the store.
- Messages: what you send us through WhatsApp, email or the contact form.
- Marketing consent: whether you opted in to marketing email or SMS, with the date and the wording you saw.
3. How we use your data
- To process, deliver and support your orders, returns and refunds.
- To send order confirmations, shipping updates and delivery notices.
- To send marketing email or SMS only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To improve our website, product range and service.
- To meet our legal obligations under Ugandan law.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Delivery partners, to deliver your order (name, phone and address only).
- Payment providers (MTN, Airtel, PesaPal, PayPal), to process payments.
- Email and SMS providers, to send the messages described above.
- Authorities, where Ugandan law or a valid court order requires it.
5. Your rights
Under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 you can:
- See the personal data we hold about you, and download a copy from your account.
- Correct data that is wrong.
- Delete your account. We anonymise your personal data and keep only the order records the law requires.
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time.

6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to hold your cart. Analytics cookies load only after you agree in the cookie banner. See our cookie policy.
7. How long we keep data
We keep account data while your account is active. Order records are kept for 7 years for Ugandan tax purposes.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed with Argon2id, all traffic uses HTTPS and only authorised staff can see customer data.
